Taiwan is a significant player in the global machine tool industry, with both domestic manufacturers and international companies making substantial investments. The nation’s strategic initiatives and growing industrial base are driving advancements in the sector, positioning Taiwan as a key hub for innovation and production.

To remain competitive in global markets, industrial enterprises in Taiwan rely heavily on modern and efficient machine tools. Germany is number 4 of the most important suppliers for Taiwan’s industry. In 2025, Germany delivered machine tool technology, including parts and accessories, valued at 38 million euros. The primary machine categories shipped to Taiwan in 2025 included eroding machines, forming machine tools as well as gear cutting and finishing machines.

With its extensive expertise in all areas of international metalworking, the German machine tool industry remains a valuable partner for Taiwan’s industrial sector. It regularly demonstrates its capabilities to Taiwan’s customers, particularly at events such as TMTS and Timtos in Taiwan.
