Digitization can increase sustainability through smart business models. This is the conclusion of the “Digital Business Models” working group of the German government’s Industrie 4.0 platform.

Industry 4.0 ensures digital transformation and networked production. At the same time, however, it also requires a transformation of today’s business models toward sustainability so that the earth remains livable for future generations.
