Whether it’s a member company or a specialist journalist, a managing director or a skilled worker, a visitor to the fair or a prospective customer: anyone interested in machine tools will find the desired information in the form that corresponds most closely to his utilisation behaviour.

The IndustryArena is the business network of the manufacturing industry. Besides the latest news from the sector, a job exchange, a marketplace and a Wiki for the manufacturing industry, , users will find a multiplicity of forums and chatrooms, in which they can seek out application-oriented help or exchange know-how. More than 500,000 registered users, most of them in Europe and the USA, are already making active use of the platform. On IndustryArena, the VDW operates a newsroom on the association’s activities and on the METAV und EMO Hannovertrade fairs, for example.

With around 330 million users active each month, Twitter is one of the most widely disseminated social networks. Besides an association channel the VDW operates twitter feeds for the METAV und EMO Hannovertrade fairs. While the VDW and METAV channels are aimed primarily at a German-speaking public, in the feed of the EMO Hannover, the world’s premier trade fair for the metalworking sector, English is the dominant language of communication. Updated information is offered on all channels in Twitter-friendly form, aiming at interaction with the followers concerned.

Worldwide, more than 500 million people use LinkedIn for managing their business contacts and keeping themselves informed about the latest happenings in the workplace world. The VDW is currently operating a group for the EMO Hannover, and will shortly be expanding its activities on LinkedIn. There are plans to provide a company page for the EMO Hannover and for the VDW.

With around 14 million members, Xing is the dominant B2B network in the German-speaking countries. On a company website, the VDW provides succinct information on its activities, so as to familiarise interested visitors with the world of machine tools.

On Facebook, you will find information themed around the METAV and the EMO Hannover, most of it in the weeks and months before each of the fairs begins. If you would like to actively follow our contents, become a fan of our pages, and don’t forget to subscribe to the newsfeed of the page concerned.
