Cyber-attacks on manufacturing facilities are becoming more common as a result of Industry 4.0.
The growing threat requires the implementation of security measures, i.e. the introduction of security in the production environment. The VDW Research Institute’s Working Group 2 “Control Technology” published the guideline “Security on Machine Tools” that describes how security for machine tools can be methodically implemented for new machines, considers the entire service life, and provides suggestions for dealing with existing machines.
